Welcome to alea studios! These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of our website and the purchase of our products. By placing an order with us, you agree to these Terms.

1. Products

Each item in our store is handmade from vintage or repurposed fabrics. Please note:

  • One-of-a-kind: Many products are unique and may not be restocked.

  • Fabric Availability: Due to the nature of sourcing thrifted and reclaimed materials, fabric availability can change quickly based on demand. In rare cases, a selected fabric may become unavailable after purchase. If this occurs, we will contact you directly to discuss replacement fabric options, backup choices, or next steps.

  • Variations: Due to the nature of handmade and vintage materials, slight variations in color, pattern, or stitching are normal and part of their charm.

  • Sizing: Measurements are approximate, but we do our best to provide accurate dimensions.

2. Orders & Payment

  • All prices are listed in US Dollars.

  • Payment must be received in full before your order is shipped.

  • We accept all major credit cards.

3. Shipping

  • Orders are shipped to the address provided at checkout. Please double-check your shipping information, as alea studios cannot be responsible for packages sent to incorrect addresses.

  • We ship from New York City throughout the United States and internationally. Shipping rates are calculated at checkout based on your destination. International Standard Shipping is offered at a flat rate of $22 USD ($18 base rate + $4 per additional item).

  • Estimated delivery times vary by destination and carrier. Domestic orders typically arrive within the carrier's standard delivery window. International orders generally arrive within 7–21 business days, although customs processing may occasionally cause delays.

  • Once your order ships, you will receive a confirmation email with tracking information. Please note that tracking updates may become limited after international packages are transferred to your country's local postal service.

  • International customers are responsible for any customs duties, import taxes, VAT, tariffs, or other fees required by their country. These charges are not included in the purchase price or shipping cost and must be paid by the recipient before delivery, if applicable.

  • If an international shipment is refused because customs fees or taxes are not paid, the original shipping charges are non-refundable, and any return shipping or return-to-sender fees will be deducted from any eligible refund.

4. Returns & Exchanges

Each alea studios piece is handmade and produced in small batches, making every item unique. For this reason, we generally do not accept returns, exchanges, or cancellations.

  • If your order arrives damaged, defective, or you receive the wrong item, please contact us within 7 days of delivery with your order number and photos of the issue. We'll work with you to resolve the problem as quickly as possible.

  • If a return is approved, the item must be unused, unworn, and returned in its original condition and packaging.

  • For international orders, customers are responsible for any return shipping costs unless the return is the result of our error (such as receiving an incorrect or defective item). Any customs duties, import taxes, VAT, or other government fees paid are non-refundable, as these are collected by your country's customs authorities rather than alea studios.

5. Intellectual Property

All designs, photos, and written content on this site are the property of alea studios. They may not be copied, reproduced, or used without permission.

6. Limitation of Liability

We take care to ensure our products are safe and accurately described. However, we are not liable for:

  • Any indirect or incidental damages arising from the use of our products or website.

  • Issues beyond our control, such as shipping delays or third-party service failures.

7. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Any changes will take effect immediately once posted here.
